Was ist das denn bittsschön für ein armseliges Bühnenbild? Hat denn heutzutage keiNR egisseur mehr Anstand vor den alten Werken großartiger Komponisten?!

I was at this Amsterdam performance in feb 2010, good artistic team,high level, but this modern interpretation is not my thing at all...

You should have been there, it was really really grand. Not a pity whatsoever. This was a really beautiful production. Although this (post)modern interpretation might not be your thing, this it is certainly worth watching

Deze was ook op televisie! Ik heb hem gezien, hij was erg goed. Dit filmpje ziet er erg veelbelovend uit, en ze maken het waar.

@ymmv99 Oh you are so right, much as I would love to watch Wagner I find myself just listening more and more. Modern stage directors are the pits!

What a pity when classic operas are modernized this way. I was going to buy the Blu-Ray release of this production, but after seeing the footage I'd rather wait for a version that is true to the original intention of the author/composer. I want to hear and see Wagner, and not be distracted by the ridiculous inventions of stage directors.

eine mordende Senta, pinkelnde Hexen bei Macbeth und für die neue Rusalka-Inszenierung in München lässt Kusej für jede Vorstellung ein Reh auf offener Bühne ausweiden. Und so ein dekadenter Mist wird dann auch noch subventioniert. Pfui!
