Final project for a 3d modeling and animation class I took a few years ago. Most of the engine room interior was built in the Doom 3 level editor and then imported into Max to build the warp core and the horizontal interior section. The warp core...stuff is animated, but you can't really tell because I made it a little too slow.
It's pretty plain and empty because I didn't have enough time to fully finish it. I had the blue swirly stuff projected onto the walls and had some more reflections which looked pretty cool but took too long to render so I had to turn it off to have enough time to render all the scenes and then edit them together quickly, export it to a CD, and make it to the last class to present it. I was 30 minutes late as it was...
That's also why the camera animation is sort of jumpy; didn't have time to smooth out the path.
And an important note: I did NOT make the Enterprise exterior. That's Dennis Bailey's model, which I think is the best one out there.
oooooooooooooooooooh so thats why its that shape, i did wonder

The refit Enterprise from ST:TMP. I personally think they should had used a similar model with the swirling gases and everything in ST:TNG.

Hey Anelf! It's me! I really like how this came out, especially how it was presented. I was expecting something like a sideshow or something. This definitely reminded me of the Motion Picture. -CM
