also i tried this and it worked very well, just remember to delete new updates, for those with xbox live there's a new way to delete game patches, just go to setting > memory > press Y after you highlight your hard-drive by just going down but don't press A > go down to clear system cache. then it will say "this will preform maintenance on your xbox 360 storage device. press yes and you will see a status bar but it will go away quickly, and then you're done.
