Birmingham 21-11-09. The meeting Final, and also the final race of the 2009 season. Without any shadow of doubt, easily the best race of the night, if not the year. The drivers certainly looked like they wanted to see out the 2009 season with a real show for the fans... and they didn't disappoint. With his engine problem fixed, Stuart Smith Jnr is back on track. Keen to make up for missing his heats earlier, Smith waste's no time in dishing out the front bumper, which has seen so much use this season. Anthony Davis, Chris Bonner and Ed Neachell were to depart on the first lap, although Neachell managed to rejoin the race. A great battle was developing between Smith Jnr and Wainman Jnr, who had been joined by Paul Harrison. Coming into turn3, Harrison puts in the bumper, punting Wainman into Smith, who in turn punt's the unfortunate Tim Farrell into the Armaco, and out of the race. With Smith and Wainman continuing their bumper to bumper duel, Chris Cowley and John Lund join Paul Harrison in taking the fight to the Smith/Wainman battle. With Cowley nipping through on his inside, Smith waste's no time in dispatching Cowley in turn1, and sets off in pursuit of Wainman once again. With Smith and Wainman slowing each other down, a very much on form John Lund puts the bumper in on Smith and Wainman, with Harrison being the one to benefit. Lund eventually hits the front of this battle, and Smith Jnr is joined by Cowley once again. Wainman slowly but surely reels in Lund, and puts in the bumper going into turn1, but not hard enough. Lund was to hit Wainman on the next bend, punting him into the Armaco, and out of the race. Once again, Harrison finds himself at the front, and Lund still wanting to use the front bumper wastes no time in hitting the rear of the Harrison car. A stricken 366 Liam Connley in the middle of turn3-4 creates an extra obstacle. With Harrison, Smith and Lund all hard at it, Ed Neachell had queitely caught up with fight, and passed seemingly un-noticed up the inside, and through into the lead, leaving the rest to slug it out. Lund was eventually to get his come-uppance, when Smith puts the bumper in, causing Lund to spin and loose ground. Full credit to Paul Harrison who took all that was thrown at him, and took third place after one final push from Smith in the closing stages. This was Brisca Stock Car Racing at its very best. Roll on 2010 !!!

  • You guys should maybe sus out Outlaw Sprintcar racing in the States or here in Oz. If you think these are cool, wait til you see what Sprinters can do. Knoxville is the best location to search if you do have a look...

  • @MrChevyMetcalf . Brisca F1 Stock Car Racing is a different format to Sprint Car Racing. They start in graded order, the more points you have, the further back you start. And removing the opposition with that hefty front bumper is the name of the game. Brisca is full contact motorsport.

  • What do u use 2 recorded ur vids??

  • I used to use a Sony TR515E Hi8, although never used Hi8 tapes, but that gave up 12mths ago, after many years service. I now use a Sony SR35. Its been pretty good so far, so I will stick with it for another year, but the plan is to go Hi Def eventually.

  • lundy must be like a hundred years old! he was doing this when i was a kid. i'm 33 now!!

  • Nearly, LOL. Mid-Fifties, but he does seem to have been around forever ! He was racin' like a veteran that night though.

  • I love F1 stock cars despite not really seeing any meetings since Crewe shut in 1990. Crewe was the biggest and fastest F1 circuit in the UK. Would it be great if a new track was built, either tarmac or shale that was bigger then the current tracks in the UK so that we could really see what these 800bhp monsters are really capable of??

  • BEST RACER EVER!

  • Yeah... Was a great race thanks to the drivers out there, putting in so much effort in the damp conditions. Roll on the last meeting of 2010, LMAO.

Not sure about picking the best meetings... Thats pot luck !!!

  • what a race! you seem to pick the best meetings!
