  • Check out the eBook "Joe Meek's Bold Techniques 2nd Edition" by Barry Cleveland, chockablock with information about Meek's production techniques and his extraordinary contributions to recording.

  • It is interesting how Joe Meek's fascination with space, extraterrestrial life, non-human intelligences and the occult is often played down or somehow seen as the epiphenomena of his queer 'outsider' status when personally I think it is central to his psyche and the way he was able to absorb, integrate and communicate new sonic possibilities that existed far beyond the consensus reality of post-war Britain's musical landscape..great video!

  • Another classic case of "what might have been" Meek and Goddard's partnership was very original & productive but Joe's "control freakiness" hurt Geoff & others & bought things to an end far too soon. Meek had a creative technical genius decades before his time, so sad. Just imagine the Beatles & Tom Jones "under his wing" too! How different they could all have been with those spacey echoes, clangs, buzzes & twangs ...Imagine!

  • I come from the stars :)

  • Great song, how could this not reach the chart ?

  • The Martian man's voice, and tinny sounding instruments create the right atmosphere. quite a collection of images.

  • I'm speechless. Wow.

  • @rnrmst totally agree, bonkers!

I played "i hear a new world" to my mates the other day - they laughed - but when you compare it to what was around at the time it was years ahead!

meek on acid in 67 would be total universal chaos!

    genius!
