Banjo-Kazooie - Freezeezy Peak - 100% Speed Run - 13:57

This is a speed run through Freezeezy Peak from Banjo-Kazooie. This is the only level that I haven't posted a video of yet, not counting Click Clock Wood.

Where should I begin here? This level really was my least practiced so far. I usually just skipped this level on other practice runs because in order for it to be completed continuously requires you to skip the level and then back-track here after you complete Gobi's valley and have learned how to use the running shoes. I had tried this several times over the last 3 nights and most of my problems come in the section with the snowmen. I am awful at beak bombing and pretty much every failed run was failing because of them.

On this run, I made a fool of myself trying to fly through the star. It is generally an easy part of the level for me, but I easily lost over 5 seconds trying to get through it the 2nd time. I really don't know why I screwed it up so badly. Perhaps I was already too worried about killing the snowmen.

The beak bombing the snowmen, once again, did not turn out well. I had 2 perfectly aimed beak bombs that missed solely because the snowmen kept dodging my attack right after I fired them. Both misses really weren't my fault because the snowmen weren't dodging until after I already released my beak bomb. Nothing I could have done really other than have fired my beak bomb from further away, but that often leads to misses anyway.

The rest of the run went really well. I saved 3 notes on a house, a jinjo and a puzzle piece for the first boggy race which saved some time. On the 2nd boggy race, I purposely stopped up on top of that house and let him pass me so that the rubber-band effect would help me win the race. Every time I try to stay out in front of him, he ends up really pushing me up the final hill and sometimes even wins the race, which ruins the whole run.

Random thought: would it possible to grab the jiggy in the christmas tree without actually landing on its little pedestal? Like, you would grab it and fall out of the tree without seeing the jiggy animation... I kind of doubt it, but I was wondering if you ever tried that.

I did try doing something like that, but it didn't work. The game usually freezes you immediately after you get a jiggy.

The run looked decent, a few mistakes as you said, but my one question is, why didn't you do the text skip when talking to the walrus?

Only complaint, I haven't played this game in years so this does bring back a lot of nostalgia.

Seriously though, pretty solid run despite the mistakes. I never realized how long this level really takes. And you still did better flying through the star than I do. =p

Wow, good job Pack, personally I would never want to speed run this level, it's too chaotic and situational, lol. Nice save at 1:53, too. I'm looking forward to seeing more! XD
