This is how I make my flemish strings. There are several different ways to do the steps that I do. However, those other steps could cost you more time or money. My way is definatly the cheapest. My jig is homeade, and the two spools of B-50 were 5 bucks a peice. So please if you have any questions or comments, feel free and enjoy!

  • how do you adjust the string mine is always a little to long?

  • @NRXTN1 when you put it on the bow you just twist it up to make the string shorter . . . good question, I should have shown that in the video . . .

  • what kind of string do you do this with

  • In this video I was using B-50, but there are alot of different types of materials. D97, fast flight etc. It really depends on what you like to shoot and what your bow can handle!

  • There are a few minor difference between our string making syle, but that is life. not a bad job. I do think that your brace seemed low for that recurve. another thing to keep in mind is to have one of the string loops larger for when you are unstring the recurve.

  • o differences are everywhere. That is actually alot higher than the origional brace height of that bow. From the factory it was like 5.5, and now I am at about 8, that gives me the perfect amount of speed and quite. Actually that is something I forgot to mention, but I always make one a tiny bit larger.

  • can you use this on a compound too?

  • What is that hairy thing on the string at the end?

  • I'm planning on trying this, and was searching youtube for examples. You make this look easy, while I plan to use a string jig for serving, you make it look so straight forward. I'm hoping the wrap forward, twist away mantra becomes clearer when I have string in my hands!

  • hey can it be made with sinew?

  • @mdw63 pse impala isn't that exepensive. or go on ebay lots of recurves for reasonable prices
