The work ethic has merit, but it does not equate to intellect. This documentary misses the point that real genius involves generating new knowledge rather than merely regurgitating factoids with high fidelity. A machine can do that better than any human. Asians are not disproportionately represented among Nobel Prize winners in Physics or among the top ranks of scientists. Studying 48 hours per day without the innate ability won't change that. PhD Physics, postdoc in Nobel lab, white.

I personally find these stereotypes a bit annoying. I'm white and I guess my parents would be "Half-Asian" in the sense that I better get A's, but past that, I can spend plenty of time with computer/TV/video games.

Smarter and working harder.
That's why East Asians (CHiense, Japanese, Korean) are the best in school.

@GoldenDragonEmperor Asians tend to have to work harder because there is more competitions in jobs because of the population is high in their country. So they have to work harder, and this habit is passed and passed, so thats one of the main reasons Asians tend to get better grades. Also because Asians have a big thing about honour and they cant discrace there family with a bad grade which goes for alot of Asian familys.

@Tatianna10 I am just saying that white parents are dumber(or having lowering IQ) than asians parents(higher IQ), so their children tend to have lower IQ than Asians, thats all
-
@GoldenDragonEmperor huh what? im just saying with practice all kids can get good grades. Different races dont ahve different brains
-
@Tatianna10 are you implying for dumb parents?
-
Asians arent smarter, they are just forced to get good grades by their parents. If any kid is forced by aprents they will get good grades too

@shineeportal True but I feel Asians put a bigger strain on education than some other races, for example when I lived in Asia they were teaching us our times table up to 12 in kindergarten and giving us 50 word vocab tests, which was normal for us when my father decided to move to the US to further my education I got to skip to the fourth grade and the people here didn't know their times tables yet nothing was challenging to me until maybe 11th grade...wish we didn't move
