This clip is from another Jimmy Wakely western in 1948 where Arthur has a great scene where he is to take a fiddle break. Unfortunately, we hear probably Tex Achison dubbed in on the soundtrack. At least Arthur has some great motions....its a shame we do cannot hear his break.

  • This stuff rocks!

  • @dottzilla

Do you play too? Back in the days when I had my record collection had a

wonderful set of Americana played by Arthur and his gang. Was 3 or 4

records. Great music from America's history.

  • @rockgor This is Fiddlin' Arthur Smith, my Granddaddy. Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith composed Dueling Banjos (or as he called it, Feuding Banjos) in 1955.

  • Wonder if that's the same Arthur Smith

    who wrote Dueling Banjos.

Hollywood, in typical fashion, recast one of

    the banjos. Used a guitar.

    A great piece either way.
