Marta Espinoza just got accepted into UCLA. But like many undocumented immigrants who entered the country with their parents, she will not be able to attend because of her immigrant status.

undocumented immigrants are not criminals. Look it up, it is not a federal crime to be in the country undocumented, therefore calling someone illegal is also wrong termonology.

People like you actually hurt Mexicans themselves by defending them here. Cesar Chavez would agree with me. He once said, "the enemy of organized U.S. labor is an endless flow of illegal labor". He protested the illegals coming into the USA.

Mexicans should stay home and join EZLN and fight for change in Mexico instead of coming here and undermining the U.S. labor class. I'm no commie, but I do respect Marcos and his struggle in Chiapas (and for keeping the fight in Mexico).

The Vietnemese boat people (mostly peasants) were fleeing the re-education camps after the war. These were farmers, and shop keepers.

The difference between Asians and hispanics is that Asians value education (they worship it) whereas hispanics don't. It's a cultural defect which is widespread in Latin America.

They are not "undocumented immigrants", they are illegal aliens (ie. criminals).

Illegals get ALL the social service freebies the Vietnemese got. These parasites get the Mexican consulate and other Latino "outreach" agencies to do all the paperwork for food stamps, Sec. 8 housing, welfare for their anchor babies, head start, Medicaid, etc.

You're always looking for excuses. Don't you people (hispanics) have a shred of dignity and self respect??

First off, what is your reference for your stat on double increased spending per student (w/ adjusted inflation)in south L.A. schools since the 1960s? Second, even if this is so, it does not change all the other factors Ive writen. And for the record, undocumented immigrants do not get all the social services the vietnamies were offered. Only American citizens enjoy most of these benefits you speak of.

So then using your logic anyone is capable of graduating from school and attending a university regardless of any factors that might hinder their chances? That is b.s. You probably also believe that civil rights movement in general was unnecessary. I do agree that Asians do well in school and I also think it has a lot to do with their access to education in Asian countries. All immigrants, including Latin@ immigrants do better in school than their predecessors.

Another bullshit excuse. In South L.A. which is 62% hispanic, the schools there spend double what they spent in 1960 per student (adjusted for inflation), yet the hispanic high school dropout rate is 62% in that area. Why? Because the hispanic girls often get pregnant at 15 or 16 and the hispanic boys spend their time gangbanging and spraying graffiti.

Stop blaming others, get some dignity and self-respect.

All you do is make excuses for hispanics. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th generation hispanics all suck. Hispanics have been in Calif for 160 years and they still do the lowest of the low jobs.

Hispanics get the same gov't freebies that the Vietnemese got, but they squandered it on bullshit. Even hispanic ILLEGALS get free health care, free K-12 education, free food at school, and their parents get welfare and food stamps on behalf of their American born anchor babies. Korean Americans DO NOT have similar groups to promote higher education. Because it's a given that Koreans value education, they don't need groups promoting it... it just happens. Korean American students kick ass and study hard; no "group" is necessary to promote that.
