This is part 1 in my series "Debunking Oneness Pentecostalism". My series will thoroughly disprove Oneness doctrine and uphold and defend the biblical doctrine of the Trinity at the same time (therefore also debunking Unitarianism and JW theology). John 1:1 in the Greek text proves without a doubt that Oneness doctrine is inconsistent in the Scriptures.
The doctrine of the Trinity is the most important doctrine. Trinitarians are strictly Monotheists. Polytheism is an abomination to both Jews and Christians. There is one God, Yahweh: one Being, one nature, one essence. The nature of God is not divided, it is shared by 3 divine, coequal, coeternal persons. Each person is not 1/3 God, they are each 100% God.
Dr. James White defines the Trinity thus:
"Within the one Being that is God, there exists eternally three coequal and coeternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
We are Trinitarians not because of some formulations or councils. We are Trinitarians because we believe the Bible consistently teaches the doctrine of the Trinity and the Bible forces all professing Christians to believe in the Trinity.
Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He was not a plan or a spoken word as Oneness advocates would make Him out to be. He is not an angel or a lesser god or just a man. He was in communion with the Father from all eternity (John 1:1-2), He is 100% God (Col 2:9), equal with His Father (John 5:18, Php 2:5-7), uncreated (Col 1:17), eternal (Heb 13:8), and He is the creator of all things: God created all things through His Son (Heb 1:2, Col 1:15-16, John 1:3). It was the eternal Son, Jesus Christ, who became flesh not the Father (1John 4:2).
" For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. " (2John 7, NKJV)
@Cutie9326 "dia" is the word. "Act of agency". Christ is the agency of creation, not the Creator. Recommended idea: Read other Bibles besides the KJV.

@Cutie9326 Trinity? Those two verses could have at least said "us" or "we," you helped my argument out...so here's my two verses: John 1:36, Revelations 22:3. Like I said "One Lord, one faith, one batptism."

Excellent explanation of John 1:1, Ethangelist. And it's good that you encourage people to look into the original languages. The intimate, personal relationship of Father, Son and Spirit within the Trinity (also known as Perichoresis) is a truth that I hold near and dear to my heart. I recommand the booklet: "Bearing our scorn: the way of Trinitarian love", by C. Kruger Baxter. You will find it on the site of Perichoresis Ministries...

@dboydustin The doctrine of the Trinity is on nearly every page of the Bible. The original languages reveal some things about it (plural verbs, among other things) that could not (at least not easily) be translate to english. But one must first receive that revelation from God Himself before they can see it in the scripture. It's just like an unregenerated person cannot really understand most of the Bible...

@dboydustin Revelation 1:8 and 1:17 don't make the doctrine of the Trinity any less true.

@dboydustin Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."
Revelation 1:17 Fer not; I am the first and the last...
It is by (in, in the Greek) Him, and for Him that all things were created. By Him all things consist. Read the book of Colossians...

In the Old Testament, God refers to Himself a few times as, "we" and "us", especially in the book of Genesis. In the original Hebrew there are even plural verbs which cannot be translated to english. I really like your series and I will put it on my channel. But the matter of the fact is that Anti-Trinitarians of all kinds just don't admit defeat even when you throw hundreds of verses at them. They must receive that revelation from God. Then they'll see it in the scripture...

@Danielezerable No, I'm not fixing to waste my time when I already that there is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. The name of THE Lord is Jesus. There is no two, no three, just one...that's all, just one.You have to read it buddy, "translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son." Who is the Son? Jesus Christ, the same person that everything bows to (Is. 45:23, Rm. 14:11). It's the same person of OT & NT. He was "I am" etc. in the OT, but He gave us His name in the NT.
