Good review. This movie is special in that it touches chords that all can relate to. You're right, it really draws the viewer in. The story is so compellingly told, acting so good that I didn't want the movie to end.

I watched this movie last night, and it had that feeling about it that made it good. But it left me with the feeling afterward: Was this movie good, or did it sucks.
Thats the feeling I had, and i couldn't completely understand it I think. (spoiler ahead) Like the scene with the woman burning to death, it felt like that scene wasnt from that movie, it just didnt belong there. Can any specify that scene for me pls!? But a good review!

@MutantvillePlayers The actor is a she, but in the book there's information that says that the vampire is a boy.

i honsetly love the fact that you noticed the relationship beetwen oscar and his mother. they go in to it miore in the book than they did in the movie. it's the best and most distrubing read i have ever encountered

You are correct - but I didn't learn that until after the movie. It's not made explicit in the film itself and I always shoot my reviews immediately after viewing the film. I think the strength of the film lies in the fact that it doesn't matter if the viewer knows Eli's sex or not. Thank you for your comments.

I really like your review, you have understood IT ALL for example with the snow and coldness unlike many other people doing reviews on this great and poetic movie.

Thanks for the kind words. I am going to pick up the book as soon as I get the chance. The movie certainly piqued my curiosity about it. I want to see more of these characters!
