Here is a short clip of a bi-directional signal I constructed recently. This signal is planned to be emplyed on the layout. The aspects shown are Clear, Approach, Stop and Proceed, and Restricting. The aspects are of my own design, based on signal aspect manuals I have studied, I devised my own aspects for the same rules. I will use what is called 'Weak Route Signalling" This is the more genaric way of signalling, where as the other type "Speed Route Signalling" is more in depth on signalling the speed as well as the route. The flashing red in my aspects indicates a restrictive signal. Instead of using the normal Red over Yellow Aspect as found in NORAC rules, I use this method for signalling a restircting aspect, this way I can use less lights for more aspects and thus simplify circuitry. This clip shows all aspects of one side of the signal. The signal is connected into a signal driver module, two inputs into the module are what determine the colars out. There is also a flash input that can be connected to either flash the light or hold the light steady on. I have connected the modules to an Atlas Connector for demostration.

  • I hope your gonna give a tutorial of all the components and how you did it- awsom so far

  • I plan to give one of the system once complete, the components will be covered lightly as the operation of the circuits is somewhat complex.

  • you did a good job on that block signal.

  • Thanks, it still needs a little touch up, pl;us some number plates but all and all looks good. The base needs to be finished painted as well.
