  • Leakage? there's no one wearing the headphone... they can't leak, their already playing back music in the air.

This is more a sensitivity test than anything...

  • @devouringone3 Leakage might not be the exact term but definitely not a "sensivity test" because they are matched in term of effective volume. Believe it or not, the sound level from both side of the 3 headphones in the video is almost equal. The presence of a dummy head has minimal impact on this matter.

  • My K1000 will OWN them all in worse leakage.

  • @OriginalMindTrick But your K1000 might own them all in soundstage too..

  • Terrific video btw. I can even hear the differences in signature from each headphone. ;) They are all good, but I can hear the grain in the 800, the crispness and darkness of the LCD-2, and unparallelled detail of the Stax! Thank you for sharing your video!

  • @Greenlulz1 Thanks, your 009 is so good that you really heard all the differences in sound signature of the 3 headphones in the video. Btw i added names of the songs used in this video in the description. ;)

  • HD800 FTW? Sexy, advanced technology, reasonably priced (oh well, compared to stax), and sounds perfect !!!

  • @pumbaa32 But you are right, we might not be using the same definitions here... maybe I am talking about sound bleeding.

    Anyways, nice headphones, lol :P.

  • @pumbaa32 Oh, yeah, a dummy head! That was the thing I had in mind.

Minimal impact? You have tested open back headphones but with closed back ones and a dummy head there would be almost no leakage (and leakage without it)... and with open back ones there would have been real "sound leakage" leaking out of the headphone. When you capture sound behind one cup like that you capture everything, both headphone, inside and outside sound.

Good thing you have put them all to the same effective volume!

  • @devouringone3 True...

  • @miceblue425 Nah Denons leak more :)

  • Nice video! I would have liked to see the K1000's in there as well.

I think the Beats by Dre Studio headphones win for sound leakage from a closed, ANC headphone. I seriously don't know how that happened and it's pretty pathetic to be honest.

  • @greekpanther1 And in having the most overrated soundstage abilities, IMO.

  • HD800 rocks :)
