My father saw this as a boy when it was released in 1933. Seventy years later, I found it on DVD and gave it to him, and he remembered almost every word of it. One of his (and my) favorite movies.

oops . Iv'e been corrected. It was Goebbels, not Hitler who offered Lang the job. Rest of story is correct.

What a great scene from one of the world's greatest directors. Anyone see a link with the Mabuse films and the horror Hitler inflicted on the world? Hitler was so impressed with Lang [who was considered universally to be one of the world's greatest directors] he offered him the job of being in charge of the whole German propaganda film industry. As Hitler was talking to him Lang was glancing at his watch and trying to figure out when the next train was leaving out of Germany

I like the part at 2:05 when everybody leans away from their monitors

This guy is like the proto-Joker. He's just doing it for the fuck of it.
Fritz Lang is a real-life evil genius.

Quite simply one of the best films I have ever seen. This and Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain changed my life immeasurably.
It's OK. I like nightmares.

Thanks. Greatest part of the movie. I made this same clip myself but didn't post it on YouTube.
