As for Macross copying Robotech? WTH??? After they 85 episodes they only had Shadow Chronicles.

After the Original Macross series there was DYRL, then Macross Plus, then Macross 7, Macross 7 the Movie, Macross 7 Dynamite, Macross Zero, Macross Frontier, Macross Frontier: The False Songstress and Macross Frontier: The Wings of Goodbye.

Ok here is the story... Big/West and Studio Nue had problems making the original macross due to lack of budget. Tatsunoko helped them financially and in return Big West gave them Distribution Rights. Tatsunoko sold a license to Harmony Gold for it's Robotech.

Then due to copyright flaws, Harmony Gold was able to secure copyrights to Macross as well as U.N. Spacy, it's logo.

This pissed of Big-West/Studio Nue (Satelight) since if they try to push the Macross franchise to the US they have

To sockmess...Honestly, I've seen Robotech, most of Macross, The first and second films, and the first 2 episodes of Macross plus (I was bored outta my mind with plus) and Shadow chronicles. I've not seen any other stuff. I didn't care for Macross the movie because it's impossible to shoehorn an entire series into 2 hours, and also because it was a thinly veiled reboot. Loved Macross 2. I seem to be the only person around to like Shadow Chronicles. It wasn't great, though. Just okay.

thank you for being a piece of reason. Dare i say it, Robotech: Macross saga had a better story than Macross. If only the plot holes could of have animation to them then there would be no contest. I do love Macross Frontier I'll even go as far as saying that is the true sequel to Robotech. Cause Shadows sucked badly.
