@LadySpy120 It's well known that the Rus are Scandinavian Vikings from Rospigg Sweden who's colonization in East Slavic lands had a big influence on the Ethnonyms: Rusyns, Belarusians, Russians, and Ukrainins. Yet, there is a deeper history to this. Check out this video.

@Joshruin i know bits just not full details , im half east and half west Slav . my mother is from Ukraine somewhere outside of Kiev and my father is from Bratislava Slovakia but neither of them talked to me much about their homes . my father had it pretty rough over there and from what i understand , my mother didn't have it quite as bad but they were very poor. both are proud of who they are, they just had to leave to make a better life at the time is all. its better there now i hear.

@LadySpy120 Yes, I am white. But it's just so ill to just dismiss the individual histories of each of my Germanic and Saxon ethnicity. Each one has a story. Each one has it's own splendor. Just as each Slavic group has it's own story as well. Don't you want to know these amazing histories? South Slavs: Croats, Slovens, Serbs, Bosnians, Bulgarians, Macedonians, Montenegrins, West Slavs:Slovaks, Czechs, and Poles. East Slavs: Rusyns, Belerusians, Russians, Ukrainians. All fascinating.

@LadySpy120 I agree. Still, everybody has differences and as I said those differences should be recognized and even complimented instead of pretending they don't exist at all. I have a heavy Scottish background as well as English, Irish, French, and German. I recognize and respect all those differences because it makes it all the better when they do come together as they have in my families. Every ingredient in a delicious stew deserves it's part in making the stew so good.

@Joshruin i just think that Slavs need to be more united rather than trying to separate themselves . that's how we ended up as slaves in the first place . i am fine with nationality and pride of ones country but in the end Slavs need to support each other. the Klitschko brothers are heroes to all Slavic people in my eyes no matter where they were born. the best thing about them is that they respect and celebrate all peoples identities while not sacrificing there own or being racist.

@LadySpy120 The issue here is that he's not being referred to as a Slav. He is being referred to as a Russian. He doesn't even have a Russian name. There are different ethnic groups within the Slavs. Ukrainians(Ruthenians), are a type of East Slavic ethnicity. You have to go deep to know this. You have to refer to anthropology, genetic science, but most importantly cultural history. Ukrainians have had a hard enough time being recognized for their true history. Let's respect that.

@Joshruin but even still Ukrainians are Slavic by ethnicity , just look at Wladimir , everything about him screams typical Slav of that region. tall , deep eye sockets , pronounced cheek bones, long forearms , long legs . even short Slavs ( not that there are many ) have most of those physical characteristics. if you were to design a Slav with a paintbrush ... wladimir klitschko is what you might end up with on your canvas.

@Joshruin well wlad is Kazakh bu his birth rights , im sure he has citizenship there or did. but he is Slavic just like if he were Polish , Slovakian, ect , there are 12 countries of ethnic Slavs , i thought Kazakhstan was one of them ( im slavic lol) but i was wrong. in brian stanns case , he is an ethnic European ( probably German ) but he was raised in and is culturally American. but if he himself was born in japan then he would have birth rights in japan as a Japanese citizen.
