LOL - I would have 45d my top corners....... Just saying :)

@Mrmojorising78 do you have a video of that??? I have the EXACT scenario that you just described. I have NO idea where to start.

I hate it when I see face nails. Only new construction guys do such a thing. No visible nails when you look directly at the window is a must for any homeowner. And why did he do any 45 degree angles on the top????

Great product I found online! search coil dispenser....... It holds the aluminum trim coil and allows you to pull out just the amount you need. I use the coil buddy made by copy-cat-tools but tapco and vanmark also make one.

But anyways, wrapping a window like they did in preparation for vinyl siding is pretty easy. Make a video of you guys wrapping a replacement window installed on an 80 year old house or older with 1x6 trim and pre existing seals and holler back at me

No 45 on the top looks like hell, I have to disagree with all the face nail comments tho, both window company's I work for REQUIRE the metal to be face nailed. Sometimes there is no other way to nail the metal on BUT to face nail it. I've redone several jobs where the metal has fallen off due to somebody that was scared of a nail on the face
in the instruction of wrapping the sill, you state to bend the ends to "shed" water, yet the video shows the ends without the top flap going over the sides. the idea is to keep water away, not to allow it in. Also the face nails on the top piece is very unprofessional and an easy remedy for this is to back caulk the top piece and nail on the flashing portion and nail the inside portion so no face nails are present.

I agree with the comments on the wrapping , 45 degree corners and face nailing
There is no need to face nail a 3/4 x 3 1/2 board
Also the flanges could be a bit wider against the wall
I find it hard to believe that John has been doing this all his life and do not have a sliding trim cutter.
Cutting with a utility knife and bending does not produce the fine cut made by the cutter.
Also, a $20 hole punch prevents deflection of the metal when nailing.
