@Kmccas There is NO predicting time periods in which natural disasters will happen. These things happen from time to time, thats it.

no doubt wheter it's hurricanes, wildfires or tornadoes, it seems liek we should be better be prepared, like maybe having our national gaurds heres instead 10,000 miles away in the sand

Yes, we can expect this about every 4 years to be nearly this bad, and yet we are unprepared..... (and Texas will get Tornadoes, floods, and hurricanes).
