because the developers made it different how should anyone know why ? its just like that

it only works on lan not in the internet or you have to get the ports for giants but i dontk now them so just use hamachi google for hamachi get it working and create a network with your friends then one of you have to host a game and the others join him with his hamachi ip ! thats it
