You'll find sweet scents in Bangalore, India this week. Flower lovers are making a beeline to the weeklong flower show at the historic Lalbagh Gardens. Let's take a look.
STORY:
Though the flow of visitors to the park is a regular affair, the garden gets a festive look around India's Republic Day celebrations when the flower show is held in it.
Counted among the most beautiful gardens in India, Lal Bagh Gardens houses a variety of tropical plants, herbs and trees in its lawns spread over 240 acres.
[Jonia, French Tourist]:
"I was very enjoy to spend the time here, I see flowers, we have in France, flowers we have, but you have lot of colors, a lot of beautiful things and you make beautiful pots, elephants, I come back, at the end of the week in France, a nice memory of your exhibition."
More than 350 varieties of flowers have been put on display at the exhibition. Hundreds of nurseries from in and around Bangalore are participating.
This year, beautiful flower formations of elephants and birds are drawing the crowds. But the most interesting feature is the thirsty crow and half filled pitcher story depiction.
[Girish, Visitor]:
"The flower show is really nice. I really enjoyed it there are many roses here and they have even depicted the thirsty crow story using the flowers. All these formations are nice; I have not seen such formations earlier."
This year the flower show concludes on Republic Day on the 26th.
