  • The Problem is, that aikido techiques arent quite that "soft" if applied to an untrained partner, that doesnt know how to evade the tension (Ukemi). Much of it is about Tension to weak points such as wrists or ellbows. If u do it fast in the very beginning it can not only hurt it can seriously damage. And this is not what u want to do in Training.

Whats the talking about "soft Techiniques" anyway? Whats so soft with a broken wrist?

  • I´m not a fans from Tissier, BUT you can not say "he did not do koshinage right. Watch o´senei..foot steps." 1th there are a lot of form to do Koshinage. 2nd You are right the most of videos of O´Sensei the foot step are in hanmi, but a lot of uchi deshi say: "O´sensei in the last time did koshinage with the foot togerther ". And in the modern aikido a lot of school teach koshinage with the foot together. Tissier is 7° Dan of Aikido and have proved his Koshinage all over the world. And you???

  • Why should I speak to those who do not know? And what should I say to those who do?

  • @ReViv4L

    Thank you very much.

  • @PiLLiSTeR Chasing Shadows from Yanni.

  • Somebody knows the name of the song? I'd be really grateful.

  • Tissier is good, I like it)))

".... lot of uchi deshi say: "O´sensei in the last time did koshinage with the foot togerther..."

I thing, he did koshinage with foot together, because he was already old)) Uchi deshi do not know how he did koshinage when was younger and stronger)))

  • Martial artists really have horrendous taste in music.

  • Christian Tissier's techniques are the most graceful and smooth I've seen.

And I think the music goes well with this video too :)

  • Having trained in other styles such as muay thai / muay boran, western boxing, wing chun kung fu, kyokushin karate as well as grappling arts such as bjj, judo, etc I can categorically state for those people that say aikido is ineffective and a soft martial art, they should try Iwama ryu/Yoshinkan/Yoseikan aikido. Just imagine being thrown onto your head by koshinage or kaitenage from a punch in a street setting? These waza can be devastating and deadly, but Ueshiba's way was one of peace.

  • Aikido, what a beautiful art form. Who cares about effectiveness, if that is what you're after train Kickboxing/ Muay Thai along with Brazilian jiu jitsu. Then go prove how good you are by hurting another human being, see how effective a human being you feel after that.....just not anywhere near me please!
