  • Dreadful (dreadful)

  • the best way to learn english is to live in an english speaking country for a minimum of at least 3 years, this callan method is a bullshit system, you´re only repeating and repeating and that´s it, for first timers it may be ok but not for advanced students. CRAP!!

  • @stncollegeCoUk What advantages does Callan have over other methods. NAME ONE! Please just name ONE that is particularly effective with Callan!

  • @MrDarkbloom If you want to be a "GOOD" teacher, you should be a little bit more open for different methods, as eash of them has its advantages. When you reject the method, which is very popular among many students you limit your teaching techniques as well as your audience of students. At the end students choose what method they prefer and you risk to end up teaching nobody, but with your favourite method. Good luck.

  • my favourite teacher.

  • @tezzalodge unlike babies people are not trying to learn to speak. They know how to speak anyway, they are trying to learn another language. There are similarities how baby acquires the language and how an adult acquires the second language but there are more differences than similarities.

Also there are many exceptions in language as well.

  • @tezzalodge That's not true. A baby can't make sentences but learns how to sound the words properly. It is common that 3-4 year old native children make mistakes and children can only make simple sentences not complex ones. When I was looking after children I came across with loads of examples with British kids. As and example a three year old used the verb "flied", instead of "flew". Also children cannot understand abstract terms.

  • @MrDarkbloom sure noooooo proooblem!

actually im not a teacher,Im a simultaneous interpreter. good luck with your teaching career.end of this conversation.

  • @jucamo007 Yes, that's about all you know how to do probably. Hope you learn what being a teacher actually means. I'm learning it becaus I WANT to be a GOOD teacher. If you don't that's your problem (and your students'). Read Scott Thorbury, Dave Willis, Michael Hoey etc etc...

  • @MrDarkbloom ......keep students awake.

oh by the way....im wasting my time discussing this.
