A catchy feel-good tune from Neil Diamond's third studio LP, "Velvet Gloves and Spit".

  • A lost gem from the past. Thanks for posting.

  • This is one of those lost gems like Tin Soldier by The Small Faces. They got radio play for about two weeks and they disappeared. This is one of my favorite Neil Diamond songs right up there with Shilo, Craklin Rose, Brother Loves Travelin Salvation Show, I Am I Said and Song Sung Blues. Peace.

  • This is a song that evokes both happiness & sadness at the same time. This was near the beginning of Neil Diamond's illustrious career. "Gets me feeling good & yet sad at the same time" is how you sum up this fabulous song!

    Bravo, Neil!

  • This song reminds me of the days when life was more simple & carefree...unlike today. The female singers singing backing vocals must be at least in their mid-to-late sixties today. The backup singers on this track are the perfect compliment to Neil's profound lyrics & singing. I wonder how well Neil remembers recording the sessions for "VG&S"? Anyway, a great track to go along with a great LP! Thanks for posting it, pie0my!

    Bravo, Neil Leslie Diamond!

  • Time on my mind. Make the most of it, just me and a Sunday Sun. Liable to forget that Monday ever comes. Gonna sit around watching bees chasin' honey. Sunday Sun, when you're 'round, get to feelin' like I wanna smile! Weekday strings tie me down, but this one day baby I can fly! Said I can fly! Hey, Sunday Sun! Let's go walking and we'll talk about some things. I'll kick my shoes off and we'll dream about some dreams. C'mon Sunday Sun, we've got some plans to make! We'll go walking...(fade out).

  • Hey, Sunday Sun! Let's go walking and we'll talk about some things. I'll kick my shoes off and we'll dream about some dreams. Got to get away when the world gets on me. Kids in the park. Don't take long before I'm laughing along with them. Almost makes me think those times can come again. Gets me feeling good and yet sad at the same time. Sunday Sun, when you're 'round get to feelin' like I wanna smile! Weekday strings tie me down, but this one day baby I can fly! I can fly!

  • A lost gem from Neil Diamond! Every song on "Velvet Gloves and Spit" is spectacular!

    Bravo, Neil Diamond!

  • ¡QUÉ CANCIÓN TAN MARAVILLOSA! (WHAT A WONDERFUL SONG!) ES REALMENTE UNA VERDADERA JOYA. SIEMPRE HE ADMIRADO A NEIL DIAMOND. POSIBLEMENTE JAMÁS VENGA A CANTAR A SUDAMÉRICA O A CHILE DONDE YO VIVO, PERO ESO NO IMPIDE MI ADMIRACIÓN POR SU MÚSICA. SALUDOS DESDE SAN BERNARDO, CHILE.

  • I was at the last Neil Diamond concert at the O2 on July 13 2011 and he never sang this. This is the 3rd concert I've seen him play in London where he never plays it. Just like Heartlight. Wonder why?

  • my old man had this on a reel to reel and wanted to know what this song was he never heard of it this was from 1968 this is a lost gem.

  • My dad had this album when i was young , brings back memories

  • My sister, cousin and I used to sing this song as kids growing up on a farm. My uncle actually had beehives in the pasture.
