A 58 year old hiker suffered a heart attack while hiking the Ski Hut trail on Mt. Baldy. He lost consciousness and fell approximately 50 feet into the stream bed below the trail. This happened right in front of the Sierra Club Ski Hut and several of the members inside the hut, as well as other hikers nearby, responded to the victim, helping stabilize him until he was airlifted out. The San Bernardino County Sheriff Rescue team deserves credit for giving this man a chance for the best possible outcome.
Wow, that's a shame, hope the guy is okay. I was there like two weeks before this and I don't know how someone couldn't get serious injuries from falling down that terrain.

Its good to hear that he is doing well. Great video folks. I use to do SAR so I am happy to see that there are more great SAR groups out there.

the man who fell is doing good he amazingly has no broken bones! he had a blood clot in his heart thats why he had a heart attack. I am his neighbor (the boy that was there) and the dr's say he is doing good. He will be staying at Loma Linda Hospital for a few days. The guy that gave me his GPS, I will send it back to you. :)
THANKS everyone for your help!!!
