The American College of Rheumatology (ACR) held its Annual Scientific Meeting in Philadelphia October 16-21, 2009. Lupus Foundation of America representatives were there, along with more than 11,000 scientific participants. Its the worlds largest gathering of rheumatologists and allied health professionals. This video is the first in a series hosted by LFA's Senior Director of Government Relations and Public Policy Julie Venners, that highlights important studies on lupus that were presented during the meeting.
In this first program, Julie Venners provides an overview of the purpose of the ACR meeting and reviews LFA's activities that were conducted during the event. Featured in this video are to Dr. Murray Urowitz of the University of Toronto, and Dr. Karen Costenbader of the Brigham and Womens Hospital at Harvard University who were recognized by the LFA for their research on lupus.
