  • @Winjury Saying that people who buy Sti's are drivers and those who buy Lamborghini's are tools who can't drive is just pandering to stereotype. Lot's of people who like to THINK they can drive purchase both, and that's true of any fast car. That said, there is nothing particularly special about an STi. From that short video, both drivers seem pretty capable. I've seen quite a few exotic owners who take their cars and, driving seriously, and sometimes you just can't trump superior equipment.

  • @LateNightCable he never said any. but an impreza sti can and usually will beat that lp on a 1/4 mile. why? because people who buy sti's are DRIVERS, not tools who occationally drive one of their many $200k+ cars for the fun of it at the track. ill bet on the sti's stills over any exotic cars any day at the track. Could I be wrong? sometimes, but ill favor the tuner anyday.

  • Did the math, the Lambo costs 6.8 times more than the STI, and thats if the Lambo's cost was in the minimal range, and if the STI has 50k invested.

  • I have a Imprezza STI and while I love it, I would trade my soul for a Murcielago. Let's not be stupid people.

  • @syncys It's not about cost difference at all. Traction could be an issue, but as speeds increase further up the track, it's inconsequential. The Lamborghini is going to lay waste to that Subaru before a 1/4 mile. The 5-speed Subaru is running out of steam when the Lambo is building up a head of it. That doesn't factor in the influence of a possible E-gear transmission with launch control that a Lamborghini could have. Some think Lambos are all flash, but there is serious engineering at work.

  • @LateNightCable As much as I hate to back up someone with "420" in their username, he's right. I have seen a murcielago scramble for grip on a drag strip every shift, while being left behind by a car 1/5 it's price. While they are AWD, the combination of high-power/torque and insufficient traction control makes the Murcielago a pretty bad car for the drag strip. Don't be so foolish/ignorant as to think cost always reflects capability.

  • 4 cylinder vs V12. Not bad at all.

  • @Devillemaniac Been there. Done that. =)
