  • @likeagsixx Well, after you schedule it you need to do it at least 2 weeks in advance. In the two weeks till surgery you must diet and lose 10 pounds minimum. This is so you can get used to small portions as well as shrink your liver. I lost 15.8 pounds in those two weeks, and my doctor was very pleased.

  • I'm a candidate for the lap band I'm 282 lbs and I hope my primary signs the papers so I can get this done I have sleep apnea I stop breathing at night my knees hurt I can't wait to loose all this fat does anyone know how much you have to loose in order to get the lap band ??

  • The mortality rate for lap band surgery patients varies depending on whom you ask. According to New Jersey Bariatrics, a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, the mortality rate is 0.2 percent. According to Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Massachusetts, though, the mortality rate is only 0.05 percent

  • That small ball like thing is the stomach?

  • the truth is, people that get the band dont have a problem with loosing weight they have a problem with keeping the weight off and over eating. It is used as a tool cause lets face it some people just cant loose weight on there own. the percentage of people who die from this operation is 1%

  • with haveing the band placed you are not as hungry as you would be before the band. If your not hugry most people wont eat or even crave food. if you eat to much you get sick most people dont like to throw up. the pouch make it harder to be hugery cause the food takes 2 hours to reach your stomake.

  • this is very informative to a surgical tech student such as myself...i still don't see how it keeps you from gaining weight...i think the patient would just learn to eat all day in small amounts....

  • i dont think you can die i think is a low risk surgery but 2 me doesnt work =) cuz i read the surgery doesn't guarantee you loose the weight so i dont c the point

  • i would die to get this surgery but i'm under age , damn it

  • most informative video by far!!!!!
