If he's singing everything at the same dynamic level, how do we explain the diminuendo to piano periodically through the aria, and especially at the end. Hmmmm. And is it not beyond the realm of possibility that if one were dying one might be a little miffed at it? I don't see this as a passion free, rote performance. He's going for it, which is a lot more than we can say about many other singers. And the instrument, guys, the instrument!

he is singing all of the arias as angry.rodrigo is dying in this aria.he is not angry.hvorostovsky isnt good actor.we should watch this aria from renato bruson
