West Timor's malnourished children - 05 April 08

Food shortages and a lack of knowledge are contributing to the deaths of children in Indonesia's West Timor province.

Tens of thousands of children there are malnourished, mainly because of crop failures blamed on changing weather patterns.

No, it's West Timor - Timor-Leste is the name for East Timor. West Timor is indeed very poor, which just shows how Indonesian development in East Timor was exaggerated. I've travelled on both sides of the border - and the West is not much better off than the East.
