  • Nice work. Charlie is still the hottest guitarist of all time (to me). Is that a 165 youre playing?

  • You're right, Charlie is the father of electric guitar, tons of swing and groove. This guitar is a 1988 Gibson ES-175.

    Thanks for your comment,

    Cheers

  • @stringcordeta You probably didn't get the memo, but when you play a Gibson guitar on Youtube, you're suppose to flash the headstock, as if to say "take that, bitches." ROFL

  • @Hoopermazing Thanks for the information, I will do that next time. LOL

  • @kmc56 Me too.

  • Can i please, please have some work sheets/tabs/anything ales ?

    PLEASE!

    This is AMAZING!

  • I'm sure Goodman had little to do with this composition; he got his name on it probably at his insistence that "If you Want My Band To Play It" I have to be given a composer credit, not unlike Irving Mills sticking his name on everything Ellington wrote when he was the band's manager.

Mills even insisted (contractually) that all of Ellington's stuff be published either by "Mills Music" or "Gotham Music," both owned by Mills.

  • BRAVO!

    Charlie Christian is great!!

  • Yeah..Man..!! You have really `Nailed It`...It sounds sort of Jazzy...I think I like it.!

  • love that jazz work-horse ES175

  • It's not flashy, but it's still some of the baddest melodic voice-leading on a guitar...EVER! He had many great solos, but this is my favorite. I love the way he avoids conflicting with the background horn figures.

  • very cool : )

  • What a great idea to transcribe these historical landmarks in music. I am eagerly awaiting transcribing and playing "West Blues" (Armstrong); "Body and Soul" (Hawkins) and all the other great musial landmarks. Thanks

  • Fantastic.
