An unusual selection in Jamie Oliver's new 2011 series Dream School, in which he shows the nation's teachers how to teach. Based on an original idea by Andrew Scott. Edited by Paul Hurley at Handface.

  • COME ON give children that have achieved in under privilaged families a opportunity like this or do you only favour kids who show no respect to teachers or each other and act in this way. Many children who come from working class backgrounds work hard in the state schools due to motivation and hard work!!! Does the word Achiever not exist if Jamie Olivers world people may believe that these kids are a true representation of British Teen. They are not Thank God

  • A weak spineless headmaster mirrors their weak spineless parents. This is a recipe for failure. Nobody set limits or boundaries for them in their original schools, so they behaved badly and disrupted classes for other pupils. These feral youths demand 'respect' for ignorance and childish behaviour and fail to give respect to those who have earned it and nobody assumes the role of 'adult' and sets them straight. Our education system is badly failing our children.

  • @bennocelt totally agree

  • watching it so far, a load of bollix - jesus that headmaster is weak, and jamie oliver is a dumb motherfucker, can someone please just give him a few slaps

  • Khanacademy FTW

  • @theresaknott so what? You missed the point

  • he really thinks he's god by giving a few middle-class children the right to a good education. why don't you go and infect the whole of the education system. actually, don't, thanks to him there are no turkey twizzlers. >:(

  • @Undercovertheory He's a fucking world class athlete!

  • @dirtyraffles And I can tell you, also from a qualified point of view that your attitude stinks. Why should they get a second chance? Because they are kids. Actually - because they are people. We all deserve second chances. Yes their behaviour is poor at times, but not that poor. None of these kids come across as uncontrollable and they all want to be there.

  • I can tell you from a qualified point of view they are a mixed ability group with poor behaviour. They dont deserve this chance, they admit they have wasted their education. Yes there are rubbish teachers out there, but those kids have spent years making classrooms chaotic for the others within them. Why should they get a second chance like this? Jamie is trying to blame the system for their behaviour, how about giving them some responsibility for their own. They dont even listen to him.

  • @porridgemummy I agree the current education system is not working for a significant minority of the school population. Educated enlightened people such as yourself should be pushing to improve the system, sending your children to the local school and joining the school board ect ect, we cannot simply shout from the sidelines from a position of relative comfort while others are spit out of the system uneducated and deeply disillusioned by the educational system
