@pacemoy that close up scene of his hand on her waist, helping her up into the carriage and then him being unable to look, as the carriage pulls away. Oh, the first time I saw that, I swear my heart stopped!!! Sigh!!!!!

@celeryg66 I finally watched it tonight . . . what a heart-rending movie! Subtle and so touching; I loved it. Ciaran Hinds was sooo good and Amanda Root was the perfect wide-eyed innocent. But how did she put up with her family??? I would've killed them. LOL

@celeryg66 I know! Emotionally, the movie is very understated, but that is exactly what makes the viewer feel the emotion . . . the things they cannot allow themselves to do and say that would give their feelings away. Wish we had more of that now in our lives and movies :-(

oh, now I know where to go to get my Wentworth fix! Just re-watched this movie and loved it! When I first watched it I really liked it, but I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now. Too young to appreciate the story of lost love and understated longing. The leads are terrific in every nuance and quiet moment, every small gesture and look.Smouldering. wow. My heart was right there with Anne. Wentworth was both sexy and heartbreaking. "I am half agony, half hope". sigh. Ciaran Hinds, wow!
