if anyone is still having problems with importing MHX into Blender, download MH 1 alpha 6.0 AND the Blender 2.57 (not 2.56) from their respective home pages. It fixed everything for me especially after a full twelve hours of trying to wrap my head around compiling nightly builds, which turned out to be totally unnecessary.
