I do believe Colin Firth was simply born to play the role of Mr. Darcy and no one else could give a better performance. I absolutely adore the entire cast!

@Sirena101 They had to give him *something* to do in this scene, didn't they? Likely, though, he'd be looking for another situation and writing to people who he thought would help him. Not even Wickham would have burned all his bridges behind him: in this case he'd already had some help from Mrs Younge.

@lytrigian Whoops, I think I skipped that chapter. So what are all the letters for? Something to do with his debts?

@Sirena101 It's clear in the book. Mostly he was in London to hide from his creditors; he had a lot of gambling debts in the regiment. He never intended to marry Lydia, but as she pretty much foisted herself on him he wasn't the kind of guy to turn her away.

What's mysterious to me is why Wickham had "business" which required him to hide away in an inn for several days. You'd think he'd just ravish Lydia and book it, but no, he spends most his time writing and drinking.

As for Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Bennet: I wonder what exactly Mrs. B puts in her smelling salts, because those two must be sniffing something in order to create such huge memory loss and d-e-l-u-s-i-o-n-s.

I actually like Mrs. Bennet in a comical way. I mean she is sooo stupid she doesn't know anything which she cannot help if she was born that way...... so I like her stupidness, I guess.
