Very simple to make. All i used was a piece of thick wood(1 1/2 by 5 1/2) for the 'base' and a piece of 5/8 inch plywood. I made the pedal part by using a hinge for free movement, and a large trampoline spring to bring it back up. I put 3 screws into the 'base' slightly penetrating to dig into the carpet just a bit to prevent movement. I have two screws keeping the bass pedal from going down to far. On the top of the bass pedals where the screws hit, i placed these little peel and stick things, made for cabinets to make it quieter. Works well, it was rather loud.

The switch itself is also very simple. I took the contact out of a relay(the contact that the electromagnet moves) and soldered it onto a small pc board. Then i soldered a thick piece of copper wire as the 'stationary contact' that i bend so that it would touch the tip of the relay contact(it has a little raised spot that is made from some kind of highly conductive material to reduce resistance when on). I glued a magnet onto the top of the relay contact, and one on the top of the pedal, so that the two alike poles where facing each other. When the pedal is close enough, the magnets repel and close the switch contacts. The two contacts where soldered straight to the original wires from the original bass pedal.

It works.
