  • dude screw the damn fish, they can reproduce! they arent making anymore ww2 p-38s anymore. people should be able to see and touch it, and hear the story. this reef stuff is just stupid! come on those arent some rare fish, and they can go find some other place in our huge friggin ocean to live!

  • First, I never said the wreck shouldn't be there. It is there. It should be dived. Why do you think I filmed it and made it accessible to others? But there are those who would rape the wreck for their own selfishness and should not have the right to dive it!

As to marine life reproducing, how do you think they do that? In the open ocean, on the sand? No. They use reefs. Reefs made from wrecks, rocks, or any kind of structure created by the massive power of the ocean.

  • The ocean keeps the planet alive. And those stinkin' common fish are important to the whole ecosystem. Rockfish and damselfish are very important in the rocky reefs. So I think you should do some studying before you start making emotional statements.

The only thing that the others wanted to do was what men want to do - tinker with toys and restore them on dry land. But once they are in the ocean, I think everyone agrees that there isn't much to do but let the fish make them their habitats.

  • There are many ways to look at these wrecks. They provide living spaces for critters and as such they become part of a thriving ecosystem. So if they end up in the water, they at least have a "new life" otherwise, you can learn to restore them.

  • How deep down is this?

  • bull shit this video sucks

  • that plane needs to be restotred. Bring some light to the pilot, as well. Respect.

  • Please watch the following video. It doesn't give the actual coordinates but the local charters in San Diego know where to find the wreck. It is off "Torrey Pines, CA".

Since YouTube hates others URLS you will have to piece the following together:

Go to Vimeo dot com - Look for "P-38 Deep Sea Exploration"

    Cheers,

    Barbara

  • I'm a WWII aircraft enthusiast and also a diver. There's no saving that plane - it's far beyond restoration and should be left right where it is.

What's the lat & long for that wreck & what is the depth?

  • @hdvdiva not really i seen on tv they pulled a lancaster out of a huge lake an fish just fell out back into the ocean cause the workers didnt give a shit about the fish they wanted the plane

  • really who cares about the fish get the plane out of the ocean we have the technology to do that

  • Great video and beautiful pilot fishes.
