Brent from Gibraltar Hardware talks about the drum rack he designed for drummer Derek Kerswill. If you're a touring drummer here are some good tips on how you could put your rack together, and why you should use a rack instead of stands. Derek did not want a huge rack, but did want the benefits of having the drums and cymbals in the same place each time he setup his drum kit without having to make small incremental adjustments.

  • If I'm wanting to buy a Gibraltar 9606NL and attach it to my current Gibraltar rack, what kind of attachment clamp will I need?

  • @MrBeastieBro You could use a curved or straight rack tube with an SC-GRSRA, and an SC-GRSSMC.

  • can you adjust the height of racks? im planning on buying one but im still young and i might grow taller so can you like adjust the height?

  • @ilovesabian1n1 Sorry for the late response! Yes, the rack is adjustable and has many options to expand as you grow physically and musically. Thx!

  • i like huge racks

  • Great Video, one thing I dont like about drum racks is all the part names, why can't they be simple, for example instead of 'SC-GRSCRA' why not just Chrome Right Angle Clamp?

  • and this all probally cost like $600 ,but I do love gibraltar

  • the one thing i dont understand is how you put cymbals on a rack all the racks i see dont have boom stands or straight stands or anything like that? do you have to buy them seperate and if so how does it work?

  • @aprioridrummer1 You'll need to attach it to a Rack for sure or it will keep falling over.

  • is the legless hi hat stand sturdy without being clamped to a rack or another stand? i really want one, but im not sure on whether it will keep falling over without being secured to something else

  • how much did the whole rack cost?

  • All your video hosts sound like they don't trust their product.

  • hello,

im buying a new set and i am looking for a rack to put it on. is there any suggestions for this?

    Thanks!

  • You would want to set up exactly the same every time if you're a robot, or maybe a tin man.

Humans need change to be comfortable and racks once set are a bitch to change.
