We all have a story to tell and a voice that we can speak up with. Before Promise Arizona in Action, I did not realize what was really going on in our state. I just heard about families being separated and a man who was behind it. The moment that I was introduced to Promise Arizona in Action, I met many people who had their own stories, and they expressed them without any hesitation.

While listening to each person's story I realized that we all indeed want the same thing for our state and for our country. It's justice.

Jackie Garcia, an active volunteer with Promise Arizona in Action, is one of many people out there who have been affected greatly by the SB1070 law and its infamous racial profiling. Speaking to Jackie, I can sense a great deal of pain she feels discussing the deportation of her Grandfather, who she considered a father figure. I could also see that nothing was going to stop her from fighting for her community.

It is not necessary for us to continue living in a state without any justice. We can stand up for our rights as a community; go to the source of these injustices and get him out of office for good.

As Jackie simply said in the video, "Everybody has a voice to do what's right for our community and if everybody tries, we could this. It's possible." And indeed, it is possible for us as a community to finally have justice.
