From the absolutely brilliant 1986 documentary about one of America's premier pioneering punk music legends. The band X created utterly original urban neo roots music by fusing rockabilly with punk rock, and "Unheard Music" is a beautiful visual analogue of what they were all about. This band could have and should have been hugely successful, but they were simply too far ahead of - and defiantly out of step with - their time to gain much traction with a mass market conditioned toward MTV-friendly fodder like Duran Duran. (Your fucking loss, assholes.) So you say you're a fan of Warped Tour bands like Green Day, punkie? Then watch "The Unheard Music" and learn the history of one far more talented band who busted their fucking humps for little to no thanks while paving the way for their successors.

i have the "beyond and back" anthology also and fucking love it. i HIGHLY recommend the X: THE UNHEARD MUSIC dvd to anyone who is into this band. the 5.1 dts audio mix on the dvd blows the shitty flash mp3 sound on this clip right outta the water.

Don't you know how to fucking read? The person who posted this clearly stated that this is a clip of X performing 'The Worlds a Mess' from a documentary called 'The Unheard Music.'

    You dumb fuck.

Billy's gotta be the coolest (as in benevolent and unfazed) guitarist in rock 'n' roll - just planted there with a beatific smile like Buddha...This movie was a great celebration of X, and gives you a little insight into the band and its individual members. Thirty years on and they're still in my top three bands - but I can never come up with the other two.

I'm going to add another comment. So yeah - missed seeing X when I was in high school in the 80s, but did see X in the 90s, the Terror Twins, John Doe Experience, Knitters, etc. Took the time, money and trouble to fly to Denver to see the might X doing "Los Angeles" track-by-track a few weeks back. WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. Will see this band until they quit touring or I die.

You, good sir, are clearly a troll or simply un-educated. In either case, shut up. You have no idea what you're talking about.

I have LOVED LOVED LOVED this band for 30 years +. X, The Knitters, John Doe Experience, Terror Twins tour, I'm very lucky to have seen the many facets that exist. Heading out to Denver to see them in October.

How could you possibly think this band is "utterly original", they sound like if ashlee simpson did punk
