  • This trailer totally misses the point of the movie - leave it to the US to butcher foreign films. And no to the Oldboy remake!!

  • This film is a masterpiece

  • koreans acting is 100% real

  • almost matches oldboy in terms of magnificent plot, but vastly exceeds oldboy in the disturbing nature of its characters. such an amazing film

  • @MScofield007

Watched both. Meh, still love KB more.

  • vengeance exists? really? ;))

  • the vengeance trilogy was AMAZING!!!!! XD

  • @watchforpiranha Yes, it is a spiritual trilogy in that all three films are centered around the theme of vengeance. However, there are a lot of reference and easter eggs to the other films. Not to mention cameo appearances of the same actors.

  • can someone please answer a question for me? i saw oldboy a few years ago.. just watched mr. vengeance yesterday as i was unaware oldboy was part of a trilogy.. just wanted to make sure, i don't remember much of oldboy.. this isn't exactly a sequential trilogy, right? like, each movie is its own story.. yes?? thx!

  • She kinda looks like Marie Digby c(=

  • is this an official american trailer? i think its crap, better watch the original korean one. its more dramatic and stunning.

  • @tandooriconnection I see your point, as the trailer does set it up as a standard revenge story (the only egregiously bad part is the "Coming for you soon" which, while funny, is misleading as to the tone of the film), but in fairness that's how the plot itself runs until certain later developments which I wouldn't spoil for those who haven't seen it. It's also good that they included some of the surreal scenes and soundtrack in the trailer. All in all I think @futurestoryteller is right.

  • @MScofield007 well, kill bill is a masterpiece too...but they are really different styles of movie..

  • @MScofield007 Hey. Don't be saying Kill Bill is bad. Sure, I love the fuck out of Chan-wook Park and all of his movies, but if someone told me Kill Bill sucked, I would cut them.

  • @tatertots725 In my opinion - I don't have anything against Lady Vengeance, but I see the complaints, whether I agree with them or not. Mr. Vengeance is probably my favorite of the whole trilogy, and I really don't understand the complaints surrounding that one - in regards to characters. It's about desperate people doing terrible things for noble reasons. There are very few things they do in which you have to ask yourself why that is. They're victims of circumstance, and their own faults.

  • @tatertots725 I've heard many people say that this film is the most well crafted, but that it comes off like Chan Wook-Park is getting too full of himself - possibly as a result. The music in this trailer and the title cards (mimicking the opening title sequence) show this pretty well. So if you don't find that off putting... Mr. Vengeance is incredible. Again I've heard complaints - in this case about characters - but they all have clear motivations; I felt sorry for them, and liked them a lot.

  • @MScofield007 Probably because they're both revenge movies.

BTW, IMDb scores. Kill Bill 8.1. Kill Bill 2 8.0, Lady Vengeance 7.7

I like Lady Vengeance a lot, I just bought the blu ray the other day. But I don't favor pretentiousness. Don't give me any crap about IMDb ratings either, this isn't box office numbers here, this is widespread opinion, it's the closest you can get to objectivity. According to those numbers Kill Bill is not an inferior movie. Nice comparing apples and oranges.

  • @tandooriconnection I'm sure you'd rathter they gave away the entire film like every other American trailer does...

  • I've seen Oldboy and I'm wondering is this is better? and how is Mr. Vengeance?

  • Easily Park Chan-wook's best film.

  • Get a grip, lol... Korean and American societies are founded on different cultural and social principles. Blaming one or the other for a re-edit is massively lame, since both cultures have different methods of narrative delivery - it's the same with all anglo-asian media relations.
