Today we have had scattered tarballs washing ashore, one report of isolated amounts of reddish globs of oil and a report of oil smell. Local officials were prepared with cleanup crews on standby. For daily updates, visit www.GulfShores.com

  • Hey i was thinking about heading down to that area this weekend, how are the conditions of the water? Is it ok to go in yet? I am visiting AL

  • About 150 gallons of additional oil spewed out of the open spigot in the 3 minutes it took to view this video. Thanks BP.

  • my name rebecca too

  • @bigbob1122 Alright dude, i live in loxley which is like 30 mins from gulf shores if that. our beaches are basicly ruined for me, but i go to "the hangout" every sunday because of reggea sunday. there is stuff to do here but what do you expect? we need tourist. if you want any info just message me for a reliable resource i have lived here for 16 years im 17 i know everything about this place

  • @02daft aww we didnt do it... BP did >.>

  • Really, we (those planning a vacation) can't trust what anyone says. The locals are all biased because they want to salvage their economy, and the national media wants to make a big story. There's not a reliable source of info.

  • I work right along the water in Orange Beach and she's correct, there isn't any oil on the beaches. It's really sad that a lot of people skipped out on visiting these past few weeks because news networks painted a much more disastrous scene here.
