@jngwatson well.... mine its like that too she´s from national ballet of cuba, and even do they scream, or give litle punches like in 1:04 they are great great teachers, I remember one class with another teacher (that is not my teacher anymore) doing a cambre or port de bras derrier she grab my bun and pulled me down so I can go further... that I think it is really mean

i like how people think they can just buy the shoes at the store, sew the elastic and ribbons on, and they can dance.... you have to bang those things around a bit. they are sooo stiff and you wont be able to get anything done at this rate.

its his first lesson so he hasnt exactualy had time to break them in its not an over night job you no !

You should really break in your shoes. And I mean break them in not just wear them and think they'll break in by themselves.
