Because we built it :)
The machine has geo-location functionality coded in. So you have to tweet with location switched on. If you are not within a certain proximity to the machine (which we can set), it won't dispense. In SA however not a lot of people have location activated on their handsets or on Twitter - so we disabled the feature. Instead, we coded in a timing feature which means the machine will only dispense every x amount of minutes (which we can set).

You sound confident. So where did you receive this info? If you are correct then the machine would be able to use bluetooth or NFC to know you are right next to it.
