Hey this is my tank housing my pair of el Copé dendrobates auratus. They are both turquoise and bronze however one is more blue than the other. The tank consists of a layer of hydro balls, a mesh screen, eco earth topped by live frog moss. The background is made from Malaysian driftwood which is thoroughly planted with bromeliads and java moss. On the side there is a species of fern and another unknown plant that will fill out. I apologize for the noise i was watching tv and i left it on. There will be an update in a few dates with proper lighting and more of my frogs!

  • I fixed it with foam adesive strips ment for doors and windows.

  • you can actually hold dart frogs ?

and how can they poisen people ?

  • You can theoretically, I avoid it. They arnt poisonous in camptivity because frogs have porous skin, and in the jungle they eat poisonous ants, and they secrete the poison. In captivity those ants dont exist.

  • Thanks but i dont really understand if you dont mind being a little more specific.

  • for sealing the doors, ive heard use 1/4 or 1/8" airline tubing, sliced lengthwise, and fit around the edge of the door panel.

  • dont have just bromielads cause wen they breed it will be hard to get the egges out of them

  • wat do hydro balls do

  • nice video are you into any other animals than dart frogs m8 am a tarantula person check my vids some time

  • yes, they are because of what the eat in the wild. now when u take one from its habitat it isnt, because we feed them different then they would really eat in the wild

  • or put simply any other herptile that you would keep

  • not in captivity, its their diet in nature of toxic ants that gives them their poison. In captivity they are simply marine fish on land ;)

  • arent dart frogs poisonous??

  • thanks, but this video was in progress. Its completely different now btw.

  • You should use better lighting!

    Like t5 or T8 lightbars!!

    not a regular light bulb!
