La Llorona This is a short pitch tape for a documentary film I am in the early stages of making. La Llorona is a story about jefitas in Los Angeles who are dealing with the loss of a child to gang violence. Looking at the tragedy stemming from the nonsense of barrio warfare, La Lloorona uses the Cuento of the famous weeping woman who wanders our barrios searching for her murdered children. I am currently working on this pitch for USC film school and put it together with Homies from West Los in the HARPYS barrio, Adela Barajas Founder of L.A.U.R.A. Life After Uncivil Ruthless Acts, and the homegirl Coral Lopez who wanders the calles as my llorona. I am still in the process of seeking out jefitas who have lost a child to gang violence and who may be willing to share their stories.
