This is a response to a viewer that posed a question about solar panel performance under artificial light. Here I test fluorescent vs incandescent, and I was in for a surprise with the results....

  • Thank you this test and video. I was wondering about this.

  • @oilspeculatorhater My pleasure.

  • like your tests and I am very interested in the results myself, just a few questions 1) why didnt you remove the plastic cover off the flourescent bulb? would that not disrupt the wavelength? 2) are these bulbs the same wattage? and 3) were the lights the same distance from ceiling to panel? not tryin to be a dick, just interested in your answers

  • @SeniorFronche Your points are all very valid but this was not a very scientific test. I was just keen to see if there was a difference in power output between diffent PV types under a single light source....and then see how another light worked for the two PV types.....the video title is a little misleading in that regard...I'll change it. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the quick turnaround. Its like testing on demand :)

I am not too surprised that the crystalline panel is doing better under incandescent light since it is probably a lot closer to the natural light spectrum.
