@jimmythecreep i agree about the clapton bit and the eddie coment but yer missing big on the hendrix take, i love blackmore too but jimi started the war.......go and listen to machine gun on band of gypsys live...........come on now?

DP MKIII...the addition of Trapeze's Glenn Hughes and the unknown David Coverdale to record the brilliant "Burn" LP...I was just a La. 15 yr old in 1972 when I bought "MachineHead" that turned me on to Coverdale & Hughes' vocals with Blackmore's guitar playing makes just brilliant music...

i can't say enough about these guys...in thier prime they were unstoppable...ian paice, a drummers drummer and richie blackmore...one of the most violent on fire guitarists i've ever seen...pete townsend was pretty violent too...but he couldn't/can't really solo...and i've never liked hendrix...eddie van halen...yes...brillent, but he was after blackmore. i like pagey and beck as well. never been much of a clapton fan as a player...as a songwriter, he's pretty good, when did rock stuff.
