I thot the airplane / truck TV commercial was in reference to some movie plot of some crappy just-released movie that has wayy too much action and CGI in it, like typical...

@cajenner10 It's hard to be funny when there are 10 executives standing just off camera making sure you don't embarrass their brand by doing anything interesting original, so instead they picked a joke from his catalog and said, hey Brian we love your stuff, here's a really big check and you can cash it as soon as you do it on camera for us. Brian said holy shit, 300 dollars, awesome, and the rest as they say is history.

@Vittoria10538 I just don't know what it had to do with Coke.
I love that companies try to make their ads funny or creative, but a lot of them just end up nonsensical or confusing in terms of the message they're sending. For instance, there's one truck that has a commercial where a plane with broken landing gear lands in the back of the truck so it doesn't crash. What are they trying to tell you? "Buy this truck, cause you'll be able to catch planes!" Long story short, they just don't think.

This is good, but I almost didn't recognize him. He looked all styled up for this commercial.
Truthfully, as much as I know he deserves to hit the big time, I sort of hope he doesn't. Although I realize that the "Brian" who delivers the standup routine is also a persona of his own creation, it seems very genuinely Brian, compared to this commercial, which looks and sounds too contrived. I don't want to lose the Brian we all know and love. Better stand(up) than sit(coms).
