Episode 7 : Complication 1/3

Settings: House Of Blues; During the show

Joe's POV

It wasn't necessary for me to jump around like an idiot and bug Kevin boundlessly just to feel at ease all the Demi-less while of my erratic life. apparently, for example. Im dying again to see her, good thing I know she's just few steps away. Tonight I've been given the chance to be around her. To be able to do again the usual thing we used to do together,on or off cam-- Singing.

It seemed quite a hobby for the two of us. If there's likely a quality time for us to spend, it would probably be just humming our favorite tune together.
But we both prefer to do it just the two of us. Being the natural dorks that we are. Because there would be a lot of inside jokes that no one could ever guess correctly what they meant but us. So I guess we have what they call mutual understanding? I smiled.

"Joe. Could you please set aside your lil Demi-fantasy, first?" Kevin's whisper came out sternly. His eyebrows pulled together. And his forehead wrinkled. "That's quite unnecessary for the meantime. And you're smiling at nothing like an idiot."

I can't argue with that, I've been daydreaming about Demi the whole day. How sick is that?

"I'm sorry bro."

"Dont push it too hard, man." Kevin nodded. "It isnt the end of the world yet. You still have your chances. You're just a freakin' coward."

"Not yet the end. yeah right." I muttered under my breath. "Very handy."

Kevin suddenly slapped the back of my head with his right hand.

"Ow! That's so nice of you, Kev. thanks." I complained sarcastically while rubbing the back of my head.

"That's for your pessimism."

"How's that suppose to help?"

"A therapy for stupid brains."

"You're saying I have a stupid brain?"

"Maybe. Maybe not." He snorted.

I glared at him. A very deadly glare.

"You know what?" He chuckled. "Im not afraid of you. And all Im trying to say ALL THE TIME is take you first move. Quit wasting time."

"And how am I gonna deal with that?" I snorted.

"It's Demi we're talking about. Your bestfriend, right? She's always around. You can tell her anything. Dont tell me, Your charm ain't working with her?" his laugh was hysterical.

I shook my head. I guess Kevin's right. He's right all the time. I can tell her everything.

"Im just--" I got cut off when I heard the door opened. Jesse McCartney and his crew with Dan Akroyd and some of Honor Society members entered our dressing room.

"Better plan for your first move tonight!" Kevin snorted before heading up to welcome our special guests.

First move? What would be my first move? I sighed. I looked around. Everyone's already here, the show might start any moment later.

"Hey, man." Jesse McCartney tapped my shoulder.

I smiled. "Hey Jess. Thanks, man." We shook hands.

"Sure. It's pretty cool having free concert here." He pressed.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"Something's wrong?" He asked, bewildered. I went too obvious again? Im not surprised.

"Nah." I shook my head. And sighed. "Just exhausted, I guess."

"Oh."

I smiled weakly.

"Hey, well, your friend, Demi.. right?" He asked out of nowhere.

"Yeah." Im surprised. "What about her?" My voice shrugged at the end.

"She's pretty cool." His smile seemed sheepish.

"She's awesome!" I beamed. But she's perfect, actually.

"Yeah. I've got the chance to talk with her earlier. Just before we came here." He grinned. "She's--"

"She has arrived already?" I interrupted. I glanced at the door.

"I think so."

"Cool!" I beamed still looking at the door. "Uhm. Jess, I'll be right back."

I heard him laughed."Sure, man."

I tapped his shoulder and head straight outside the door. There's so many people here. Where the heck is her dressing room? I turned around and saw Dallas walking out of the room just right beside the room across ours. I paced quickly to the door as soon as she's out of sight. Im sure this is Demi's dressing room. I grabbed the doorknob and twisted it sluggishly. It was locked. I could hear someone's voice from inside. A very familiar voice. It was Demi's. I decided to knock.

knock.knock.knock.

"Demi?"

the door opened.
